I am interested in buying a pitts s2-a or a christen eagle and am just
looking for some feedback on which is a better overall aircraft. Which
has a faster roll rate, and is the christen eagle more docile in
landing than a pitts. If anybody could post or send me an email with
feedback I would appreciate it.

One is experimental the other is certified. Lots of things MUST change
just because of this factor alone. If every major component was the same
on each airplane the
performance(s) would be "hair splitting" identical. In the real world
this does not happen.

A good Eagle indicates 163 at 25/25 cruise, and the max you'll see from a
great S2A is
about 145 (otherwise the motor was illegally souped up). Spring landing
gear is lower
maintenance but much less forgiving. Fabric side panels are a crazy idea
in the prop
wash on the stock S2A. Also the front seat bench with your feet in the
front seat
passengers butt is awful. And finally the canopy and visibility whoa !!!
Pitts are
horrible. Then comes the annual inspections and certified factory
parts.... now you got
a monkey on your back and it must cost you much more money to maintain to
legal
standards.

Having flown them both in different situations anyone in their right mind
would get an Eagle. Think CERTIFIED vs EXPERIMENTAL, and this will clear
your thought process. Look here for tons of biplane information:
