Whistler radar detector

I am considering buying the Whistler 1190SW top of the line model radar
detector. Does anyone have any experience with this model? I was also
quoted a price of $199 which seems like a good price.

I just tried out the 1180SW whistler this weekend. Its the same as the
1190SW but no laser detection. I didn't like the x band detection.
I was sitting at an intersection with a cop across from me and it only
beeped once with a "1". I turned on my uniden and it detected it
constantly. The beep is not very loud, couldn't here it if stereo was
on. The visual indication was lame. A tiny bar led is all that comes on.
I returned it.
