There has been some mention from time to time here about a clutch recall
for the 1989 Taurus SHO. My dealer tells me that there never was such a
recall. Does anyone have the number of the recall(i.e., the official Ford
recall number)? An e-mail with the number would be greatly appreciated.

You have found a typical Ford dealer. Run away as fast as you could from him.
Technically, he may be right. It was called "Owner Notification Program". All
SHO owners were supposed to be notified but many of us never did receive
any notification
If you want the number, it was 91M73. It started in Sep'91 and expired in
Apr'92.
