This is of course a corollary to the rule: never insure something
you can afford to fix.
Virtually all auto repairs are affordable by virtually all people
who own cars.
The rule arises because insurance is nothing but gambling. The
insurer is betting that you will pay her in small pieces more than
she will pay you in large pieces plus profit and salary, and she
gets salaried by how well she bets.

How many people will actually put that money in the bank and keep it there for the
sole use of a automotive repair......maybe for people who have a hard time saving
money or don't want the hassle of worrying about paying for everything the
extended warranty is worth it.....for some people it is worth it...others not, and
for some the peace of mind knowing you won't have too many unexpected expenses
is enough.....if you drive a lot, your basic warranty can be up in a little longer than
a year....how many people can make the car payments as well as large repairs....
It may work for some people......

Again, never buy anything from Geico. This company is unfair to
all drivers, whether it insures them or not. For more information, read recent
C/D's. You'll love what they've been doing.

WRONG! Maybe because I've never had a speeding ticket and only two
accident claims in 22 years... But I've never had a problem with GEICO.

Well, you can add me to that minority. I've been with GEICO for about 10
years and I haven't had a problem with them. My car was stolen in
October. They paid the claim with no hassles. Also, GEICO doesn't
increase your rates for a single speeding ticket.
all concerned might want to read the letters to editors sections of road&track
or car&driver this month. plenty of examples where people were dropped for
just one ticket or had their rates skyrocket. from what i hear and read it
is 10:1 that geico sucks.

Car And Driver's interview with the GEICO boss has him saying that
the individual GEICO state subsidiaries make decisions on whether to charge for
tickets or not. He said that many do. Your state may not.
