mazda b2600 engine swap

im going to try and take a motor from a 1985 b2000 reg cab and put it in
a 1988 b2600 ext cab. Is this possible? are trannys compatible,cross
members etc any help would be appreciated. thanks

I dont know if this is getting posted but i am going to try to put a 1985
b2000 motor into a 1988 b2600. I was wondering if this is possible. Are
the motor mounts,cross members, trannys etc. compatible? if anyone has
any info for me it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

As far as I know, not until 1993 or 1994 is that true. Nothing worth
mentioning was interchangeable between the Mazda p.u and ranger p.u.s.
I worked in a junkyard for a while, and according the interchange,
they were completely different vehicles. Most parts on a Mazda p.u
are interchangeable from 85 or 86 to 91 or 92. Some parts are
different through those years, but the trucks are more or less the
same.

As for swapping the mazda engines, I don't know if the mounts
are the same, nor if the transmissions bolt up the same.

Not true, the b2000 is a 2.0L Mazda engine (with head gasket problems), the
b2200 is a Mazda 2.2L engine, but the b2600 (4x4) was a 2.6L Mitsubishi
engine... All of these engines are different, and I think the 2.0L will not
work, or at least easily, in the b2600. The "b" designation determined the
engine size...
