My uncles Chevy Suburban has an trailer brake controller
made by the EPCO company in Marshall Michigan. It is the
modem ESSBC. Calling information for Marshall Michigan
results in no listing.

Does anybody have any idea where I can get a hookup diagram?
Or a schematic? The trailer has been sitting for 5 years,
and has to be moved within the next 3 weeks (the property
has been sold) and now we discover that the wiring under
the dash was mucked with when the engine in the Suburban
was changed.

Hopefully there is somebody reading this who has one, and can
photocopy the paperwork and mail it to me. Or maybe somebody
could look in the yollow pages in Marshall and see if the
information operator has a rectal-craninal inversion problem.

---------------
Black is Ground
Red is Positive
Blue (that looks tan to me) goes to the trailer brakes
White goes to the stop light switch
I don't know what the green or orange do
I think the green is the same as the Blue

afaik, all brake controllers have the same wiring color scheme - seek
out another brand and copy that.

and if you're color blind, you need to have someone who isn't work on it
with you.

Why would you reply on June 8, 2013, to a post from April 2, 1996?
Do you really believe that the op still has that vehicle
and the vehicle still has the problem 17 years later?

EPCO is now Powerstop.

If their wiring is the same

Black - Connects to the dash lights

White - Battery Negative

Red - Battery Positive

Blue - Feed for trailer brakes

Green - Trigger wire that connects to the brake light switch

Orange - Backup light switch to keep brakes from applying in reverse.
