Toe Knee...get it?

I recently installed a remote starter in my 99 Chevy Tahoe;
the remote starter works great. However, during the course
of the install, it appears that I managed to cause the "security"
light (a function of GM's PassLock option) to remain constantly lit on
the dash, even while the engine is still running. The dealer won't
even attempt to correct it without charging me, since I installed a
non-factory option which caused the light to stay lit in the first
place.

I tried disconnecting the battery hoping it would reset the computer
(or whatever it is that controls the PassLock) with no luck. Does
anybody out there know how I can reset the light (without pulling the
fuse, cutting the wire that supplies current to the bulb or removing
the bulb)?

TIA,

Each brand of system is setup differently. I installed a Bulldog
system today in a '94 Caprice Wagon. The Bulldog system has 16
different connections and parameters. The systems are very particular
to the inputs made into the fuse panel

My wifes Tahoe was 31,400 ( I payed invoice off the carrier, stuffed,
Dinali) why not pay 80 bucks to get it installed properly. It takes my
electrical tech an hour?

It sounds like you set a code that can only cleared by a dealer
scantool.Modern cars are so integrated that if one car detects a fault
it sets a fault code. The dealer can look at the code and determine what
is setting it,as well as resetting it. Sorry, but installing after-market
accesories on warranty vehicles will void your warranty. It could get
real expensive replacing modules that customers destroyed by adding
equipment. Don't cut wires trying to turn off the light you might
accidentally trigger the air bag or cause a no start condition.
Let your dealer take care of the problem,he has the proper manuals and
equipment.

I speak for myself only, not my employer.

What wires did you tap into for the remote starter? Have you tried
diconnecting, 1 by 1, the remote starter wires to see if the light ends
up going out? I don't know if it works the same as models a few years
older, but try disconnecting the battery for 10+ minutes. The ECM
usually has capacitors in it for back up power.
