NHRA Points Standings

[Sharlee Hughes]

The latest results are in from the rain-delayed Brainerd, MN
Champion Auto Stores Nationals. The final eliminations were held
Monday, August 23.

In Top Fuel, Eddie Hill extended his Championship points lead by
defeating Jolly Rancher Candies Nationals winner Tommy Johnson, Jr.

Chuck Etchells, in his Kendall GT-1 sponsored Funny Car defeated
Cruz Pedregon in the McDonald's flopper.

Warren Johnson continued his reign by defeating Larry Morgan and
the Castol Super-Clean Olds.

Top Alcohol Dragster saw Bill Barney defeat current points lead
Blaine Johnson.

Confusion exists about the Alcohol Funny Car winner. It was either
Chuck Cheeseman or Cy Chesterman defeating Division 6 points leader
Rick Henkelman.

The following points standings are through the Jolly Rancher Candies
Nationals held at Seattle International Raceway August 19-22.

You're not thinking of Don Prudhomme are you? He has talked about it
in the past, but I've not heard Eddie Hill being interested in Winston Cup.
Although he *did* enjoy being in the FastMasters.
