Yeah, he's just a complete fool for hiring Mark Martin to replace the
legendary Casey Mears. That's just the dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen
a car owner do. I just don't understand why he would want to replace an
inconsistent, mid-pack driver with a guy who has run up front his whole damn
career, and still does. That whole concept just makes no sense to me at all.
</sarcasm>
i can remember martin choking his brains out the onw time he got near the
title.
he's old has been
No need for <sarcasm> </sarcasm>....I'm with you.

Amen!!!!!!! hahaha good one.
Dontcha all know what is going on ? MM is going to be the
** DESIGNATED T - E - S - T Driver !! He may win a few
races ... but he is theee best in theee world today ..at Telling
The Crew Chief and the engineers ..What the car Needs !!
and ...Now you know ....the Rest of the Story !
I do not wish to appear cynical but the fact the Martin is a fan favorite
would probably also make him a sponsor magnet and that may have weighed into
things.
In 2009 Hendrick will have a Dream Team of race winners, Championship title
holders, and fan favorites.
And Kyle Busch will still likely win more races than all four of them
combined. Las Vegas sports fans have a chip on their shoulder about how the
major leagues and the NCAA disrespect us over the gambling thing so we are
taking it out on the rest of the country with Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch and
you had just better watch out because there is another Busch coming down the
pike.
Its all about $$$$.

I'm guessing they are planning on Martin holding Brad Keselowski's hand for
a season or two.
I think they hired Mark because he can bring sponsorship opportunities
along. It's not about Mark; It's about Marketing.
I see a lot of people with that perspective, but I can't help but believe
that Rick Hendrick does not need any help in the marketing department. His
organization attracts all the marketing he needs, IMHO. Of course one could
always say that a racing organization always needs more marketing money.
I'm just speaking from my own off-the-cuff ideas, but I just don't see where
Martin or anyone else (including Junior) is going to bring in such a big
increase in marketing money to Rick Hendrick than most any other driver. It
would be interesting to see just how much more money came in with Junior. I
would not be surprised if it were not such a big increase.

There's also Cassill, coming up through truck and N'wide, although
he's a bit inexperienced and young, yet.
