no idea which race I should really boycott in support of North Wilkesboro.

And I'm too lazy to wait until bedtime for practices to be over, so I'm
going to predict on qualifying and one practice....with predictions I more
or less pulled out of my hat while working this morning. So the distraction
is my excuse if they're no good.....while if they turn out better than
usual, it'll lead to a spate of predicting with brain disengaged. :)
1) KuBu'll finish top 10
2) There will be more Dodges than Toyotas in the final top 10
3) Smoke will *not* finish in the top 10
4) Jeffie G will be the top Chevy
5) There will be no changes in the top 35 at the end of the race in the
sense that nobody who is in the top 35 will fall out, and nobody who isn't
in the top 35 will get in.
And I believe I'll take Cousin Carl for the win.
Bonus prediction: (some may call this a gimme): Ratings will suck for a good
bit of tonight's Nationwide race, especially the further east you go.
NASCAR, if they comment at all, will be "baffled" as to why this is the
case, not grasping (as usual) that most folks really *don't* want to watch
middle of the night races.......I understand California wanting evening
races, I really do. But when that makes them start at old folks' bedtime on
the East Coast, that's pretty abysmal. (After all, on a Saturday night, the
Young Whippersnappers are often out and about. So all you *have* at the tv
is the Old Folks......)

I'm sure it didn't help matters to start the race broadcast at
lap 9 (following the end of the Miss State/La Tech game, which
ran long), show half a lap, and break to commercial.
Incidently, I'm not in the Young Whippersnapper class any more,
but I'm often out on a Sat night too. It's more fun to go watch
the game, especially in college football season, over at the
sports bar....but NASCAR is definately second priority to the
games there.

So we now have a bracket of where racing fits in ESPN's priorities: it's low
enough to be bumped by football, but high enough to bump an Evander
Holyfield Boxing Retrospective......
I only know that because I'm starting to grasp that this is what ESPN does.
Not having been there right on time to check the crawl (if there was any
mention there at all), I just started checking all the ESPN channels until I
found the race.
Still and all, shabby practice, and a bear if you're depending on recording.

As best I can tell, true. 34 and 35 seem to have flipped places; 36 and 37
seem to have flipped places. But nothing crossed the magic line.
