This week the Winter Heat sprint car event is going on in AZ.
Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson are participating, with Larson
picking up a win yesterday.
Coming up shortly is the Chili Bowl, with a measly 318 cars
entered. Kyle Larson will be there too, along with Ricky
Stenhouse, JJ Yeley, Cole Custer, Tanner Berryhill, Kenny
Wallace, and probably some other NASCAR names I missed in
the list. In the past Tony Stewart has raced the Chili
Bowl under an assumed name, so I wouldn't count him out...
The Dakar Rally starts today, and once again Robby Gordon
is contesting it (in his "Gordini" (*)). With 42 of 167
cars in, Robby is in third for the first stage.
(* so named after GM killed off the Hummer brand, somewhat
to Renault's annoyance, since they own (but are not currently
using) the Gordini brand. Altho we would call it a "truck"
in the Dakar it counts as a car, since they have a class
for real, multi-ton payload trucks.)
