Spokespeople for the Wayne County Speed Shop Team Mopar Pro Stock Team of
Darrell Alderman and Scott Geoffrion have confirmed that vandals broke
into the Team's shop in Fairfield, IL last night and destroyed all seven
of the team's engines. While details are sketchy at this point, it appears
that the vandal (or vandals) sprayed the walls of the shop with "See you in
E-town" with an Oldsmobile symbol underneath and "winners GM reains [sic]."
As a result of this criminal activity, the Team Mopar cars will not be able to
race at this weekend's NHRA event at Englishtown, N.J. and Alderman and
Geoffrion will be forced to miss the DuPont Pro Stock challenge unless other
rides are secured.

Thanks for the input. See you in Sonoma...and looking forward to hearing
those ducet tones on the USSB pay-per-view this weekend.

Dave,
could you or someone else repost what is going on with the Dodges.
For some reason I only got a fragment of the original post.
I'm really hoping that this tradgety doesn't involve injury or loss of
life.

How ironic that with the Wayne County team out of action, the GM boys
went home winless anyway, as Bob Glidden finally came out of his long
slump and won Pro Stock at E-town!!
I hope they find out who sabotaged the Wayne County team and nail the
bastards to the wall. Drag racing is the only motorsport with any real
sportsmanship left, and I'd like to see that preserved.

We interrupt this engagement to bring you the racing season...
What's that, dear? You want to drive the race car too?!
I don't agree with this premise. I thought the other team's
reaction to Penske's travails at Indianapolis was sportsmanship at it's
finest. Penske was offered cars from Dalye Coyne and Newman Haas,
in addition to the leased cars from Pagan Racing and Rahal Hogan. Newman
Haas had it's backup cars inline for qualification by Penske's drivers.
Penske didn't take most of the offers, but...
