IRL: Texas Sam Schmidt Race Report

Fort Worth, TX: Sam Schmidt piloted the Sprint PCS/Unistar Auto
Insurance/G-Force/Aurora/Firestone Indy Car to a third place finish in
last nights Longhorn 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway.

"WOW, That was an exciting race. The car was awesome. I didn't lift off
the throttle the final 20 laps," said Schmidt when he emerged in front of
the estimated ninety thousand fans.

"The Treadway team gave me a great car; they deserve a lot of the credit.
The fans got to enjoy some spectacular open wheel racing tonight," added
Schmidt.

Schmidt finished less that a second behind the race winner in a photo for
second place, and climbs to sixteenth in the points championship.
