National Hot Rod Association: Goodyear teams won six times
in the Rugged Liner NHRA Nationals at Brainerd, Minn. That gave the
tiremaker an industry-best 96 victories in NHRA national event
competition this season.

Kenny Bernstein grabbed his fourth victory of the season in
Top Fuel competition, knocking off Larry Dixon in the finals. Bernstein
has narrowed Dixon's lead in the championship standings to just 80
points. Doug Kalitta had both the lowest elapsed time of the event (4.597
seconds) and the top speed (322.19 mph).

John Force won in Funny Car and Jeg Coughlin was the Pro
Stock winner.

Goodyear cars also posted wins in three sportsman classes.
Arthur Gallant beat Shelly Howard in Top Alcohol Dragster, David Rampy
rode his Goodyears to victory over Al Bresch in Competition Eliminator
and Peter Biondo beat Rock Running in the finals of Super Stock. Goodyear
cars are undefeated in the final rounds of Competition Eliminator this
year.

Goodyear's 48 final round wins in the sportsman classes
in NHRA national events leads all tiremakers.
