F1: Bourdais Set for New Toro Rosso Test

Triple Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais is set to test again for
the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 team this week, according to
autosport.com.

Bourdais' imminent move to F1 has been widely speculated since late
last year, when the Frenchman showed impressive pace aboard the old
STR1 in what was his first F1 outing since a brief test with the
defunct Arrows squad back in 2002. Toro Rosso co-owner Gerhard Berger
was not short in praise for "SeaBass" at a time when both Vitantonio
Liuzzi and Scott Speed had yet to be confirmed as STR's 2008 racers,
but Bourdais' three-year contract with Newman/Haas/Lanigan precluded
any chance of a deal back then.

The 2007 Champ Car points leader will drive the new STR2 at Paul
Ricard this week and also during the preparations for the Belgian
Grand Prix next July.

"We are still keeping an eye on him," Berger told autosport.com. "But
we will make no decision about our 2008 drivers before the middle of
the season."

Bourdais' current N/H/L deal expires by this season's end.

That will make the ChampCar-ians happy when the French guy knocks off
the American.
One less American in open wheel racing. And when the number reaches zero
all will
be right in the world of the ChampCar-ian.

Berger must be a ChampCar fan too. He is doing his best to sabotage
Speed's car.
What's the deal with Austrians? Gerhard Berger is stabbing Speed in the
back just like
Niki Lauda stabbed Bobby Rahal in the back when Rahal was the head of Jaguar
F1.
What a bunch of backstabbers.

I think I'm going to start fielding guesses at which grade VF's in.
