Todays Houston Chronicle mentioned Elmer George's (Tony's dad) death
in an article on Tony. I print this because it was brought up a
week or so ago.

"On the morning of the 1976 Indy, Elmer George forced his way into
the house of his estranged wife (Tony's mother) and her boyfriend,
Guy Trollinger, who shot the intruder. Trollinger was not charged
with a crime."

"We will be landing in Indianapolis in a few minutes. Please set your watches
back 20 years." -- old joke about the Indy 500 (from 4/16/96 AutoWeek)

This actually took place on race evening, after Elmer and his employee
Trollinger had a confrontation on the family farm prior to the race. That
is the way I've always been told the story, without any mention of Mari
Hulman being directly involved in Elmer's death.
