if those who claimed to leave when rascart was voted in would do so?

If all the flames could end(me included) and pro-indycar posts could be
made.......

If the primary post dealt with Cart it could be posted where it belongs(my
server still doesn't handle rascart yet).

That just because someone may support one series doesn't mean they cant
support another? Note: a pro IRL comment doesn't necessarily mean you are
100% pro IRL.

It would be nice.

Actually Grump there is an excellent alternative. Try www.trackforum.com

The discussion in the IRL forum is obviously a little biased as a few run
the fanatacism line a little hard. Overall though the banter is excellent
and the moderating is consistent. You have to be a little more PC than
here.

I think you'd enjoy it. There are some random chats that pop up a few times
a week as well. Some good info and ideas exchanged along with the typical
silliness. It helps to know the words to Alice's Restaurant in addition to
knowing about Indycar racing.

Stop over.

I suppose you're referring to Mr. Sweeney (since I certainly never made that
claim). You know, Brian really doesn't post that much to RASI. Why don't you
just killfile him?...

"Grump": >>If all the flames could end(me included) and pro-indycar posts

Go for it, "Grump". Start the ball rolling. Let's see a "pro-indycar post"
from you...

"Grump": >>If the primary post dealt with Cart it could be posted where it

Oh, so what you really mean by a "pro-indycar post" is a pro-IRL post. Okay,
well give us one of those then. Dr. Jack Miller will be racing at Atlanta.
Give us a "pro-indycar post" about that.

How would you know about that? You showed up long after that group was
created, and the Deja archives don't presently contain the discussions
from that period.

There is no "indycar," any more. That name is gone.

I'm not the biggest fan of IRL, but cut the folks some slack home boy! You
created the division, and it's allowed a difference. Keep it that way. Why
fuck with people who have things to say? Is there a credo in RASC that says
that the founder has to be a fucking asshole troll in RASI?

Man, the guy who invented the pistol didn't shoot himself in the head to
prove it, so what are you after?

Back off, let the topics here be as they are, and keep your jackass out!

That is, after all, why you did such a good job of creating an NG that runs
in that direction, isn't it?

Dan, I couldn't agree more with the level of discussion on trackforum (if a
bit one sided) but you'd be remiss in not reporting on the current
controversy about the moderators banning a poster (the infamous Ripper) for
saying, not anything on the moderated forum, but on Speednet. I don't even
think 7th Gear would ban someone based on what they said here.

Moderation suks! I know that because I would never get away with saying
"Moderation suks!" in a moderated newsgroup.

First off Deg, it's not Dan's forum (they have a number of moderators but I
don't think Dan is one of them).
Anyway, the notorius Ripper had posted his intentions on Speednet to go over
and disrupt Trackforum. He apparently posted three or so times at
Trackforum without inciting the masses (ie, he was being abnormally polite
and contributing positively). Then, another Speednetter who's primary love
is Trackforum reported to the Trackforum administrators some of Ripper's
antics on Speednet. Voila, Ripper's posting privileges were revoked. By
the way, this is not censorship; it's more properly termed prior censorship.
As it stands now, Ripper has been extended an invitation to rejoin
Trackforum (in a face saving gesture I suppose) to see how long he can cut
it before being bounced for good.

While I don't think it has anything at all to do with what I posted Rich,
I'll give you my interpretation anyway.

I stuck up for Ripper and his right to post there in the very first thread.
I think the person who takes on the persona of Ripper is most likely a
decent guy as I have had a few brief discussions with him where he stuck to
racing. That said, he has allowed the Ripper character to consume his time
online. He may well have come to Track Forum with good intentions but that
soon turned to the usual BS that he spreads on SpeedNet.

Regardless of the circumstances surrounding who, why or for what reason he
was suspended the bottom line is that Track Forum is a moderated forum. If
somebody does not like the rules they are not forced to stay there. There
are plenty of forums, this place for example, where being a pinhead is
accepted. Track Forum was created as a place where people who were willing
to respect a basic set of rules could enjoy some excellent racing discussion
and good company.

As far as 7th gear not doing the same type of thing you may want to check in
to why Howard Dolan was suspended over a post about PJ Jones. It wasn't his
post, yet his intention that got him booted from 7th Gear. I didn't stick
up for Howard then because I knew his intention. He went there to disrupt
and antagonize just as Ripper stated he intended to do.

Just my take. You are certainly entitled to your view of the situation.
However, I still think it has little to do with the intentions of my
original post.

I have nothing to do with Track Forum Degrelle, sorry. I am just a very
satisfied participant. I take the opportunity to invite others to stop by
who I feel would be a good addition. I guess I haven't mentioned it to you.

Can I ask you something Grumpy?
