No, I'm not making an award for Yeongam, but I've been reviewing the
race reports in Autosport magazine, and as they did in some past seasons
their driver-by-driver summary, written by Edd Straw, awards marks out
of 10 for each driver at each race. Obviously these are just one man's
opinion, but maybe worth a wider audience.

These are the highest and lowest scores:

AUS 10 Button 4 Massa, Senna
MAS 10 Alonso, Perez 3 Massa
CHN 10 Rosberg 6 MAS, MSC, HUL, PER, VER, KOV, KAR
BHN 10 Vettel, di Resta 5 HUL, KOB, RIC, MAL, GLO
ESP 10 Hamilton, Maldonado 3 Massa, Senna
MON 10 Webber 2 Maldonado
CDN 10 Hamilton, Grosjean 1 Button
EUR 10 Vettel 0 Vergne
GBR 10 Webber, Alonso 2 Rosberg
GER 10 Alonso 4 Massa
HUN 10 Pic 1 Schumacher
BEL 10 Button 2 Grosjean
ITA 9 Hamilton, ALO, PER 4 Webber
SIN 10 Hamilton, di Resta 4 Schumacher
JPN 10 Kobayashi 4 ALO, GRO, PER, VER, PET

Race winners usually get a 10 - except for ALO (EUR), HAM (HUN),
VET (SIN & JPN), all of whom were awarded 9 points. Hamilton won
the Italian GP and was also joint top scorer with a 9.

Alonso and Hamilton were top scorers four times, Button, Perez,
Vettel, di Resta and Webber did so twice. Massa was lowest scorer
five times, Schumacher & Vergne three times.

Hulkenberg stood out as the guy very involved and doing most things
right when the camera was on him. He scored as many points as were
available to him.

Perhaps similarly Vergne.

Any one actually calling a driver of the day? Clearly build fucked his
own thread, but does that mean the idea dies?

Or, is every one like me thinking that no one really stood out much
whatever reason?

This whole "XXX of the day/match/game" is mostly a waste of keystrokes.
There are 24 drivers doing their jobs and they seldom doing anything
noteworthy.

When they do, the incident is remembered for a very long time - for
example - Hakkinen overtaking Schumacher at Spa, when they went either
side of a backmarker.

Such events soon become a "did you see?" moment.

I thought Ricciardo did a pretty good job from the back of the grid.

Massa looked good - but perhaps mainly by comparison with how he's
looked for most of the season?

Yeah, I notice him too. One of the biggest gainers, IIRC.

Yeah. Problem is, because of "Ferrari", I'm kinda suspicious.
