They retired the car right after I posted, but I doubt he was going to get
back ahead of Ricciardo from that far back with so few laps. Not looking
good for Checo at all.

Significant car damage after "bumping" with Hamilton. Lack of pace
following that not really Checo's fault.

And I'm not sure that there wasn't something wrong with the car that let
Hamilton get that close.

He was on the radio before the Hamilton incident saying the rear tires
were done. So maybe he probably wouldn't have retired without the contact
but he was likely going to go backwards.
