There are 10 types of people in the world.
Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Oh pleezze, I'd just about managed to erase that image from my head
since last week! ;-p
Lyrics below. I was actually listening to this the other night.
Still Life In Mobile Homes - Japan (David Sylvian)
Sometimes the comfort of a room
Sometimes I'm quite alone
I pack to leave a foreign town
It seems I'll never know
But I'll rent new accomodation
We'll make plans for mobile homes
Slow boats moving with the tide
Drifting far from shore
It's the nature of this country life
I've never known before
Still we'll make plans for buildings and houses
From mobile homes
Plant life
My life
Still life in mobile homes
Plant life
My life
Still life in mobile homes
The sound of wildlife fills the air
So calm and dry
The bushland burns in this southern heart
Like an open fire
Still we'll make plans for buildings and houses
From mobile homes...mobile homes
Plant life
My life
Still life in mobile homes
Blood life
My life
Still life in mobile homes
A voice screams from heaven
As we start to sail
It's the calling of the fatherland
I used to know so well
But our age new accomodation
Will make plans for mobile homes
PLant life
My life
Still life in mobile homes
Plant life
My life
Still life in mobile homes

I've not read much sci-fi since I was about 16 and am not familiar
with Rankin's work. Nor with fellating Beetles...

I think I picked a bad analogy..
More like 'Sex & Drugs & Sausage Rolls' or 'Waiting for
Godalming'. Most certainly not Sci-Fi or fantasy. A
surreal crime caper perhaps?
Nothing wrong with that!
I loved doing "donuts" in the snow in a Volkswagen Beetle (spun like a
top), but going for any kind of sexual intercourse in those days (including
Fellatio) had to do with having a gas heater in a version that was a
"station vagen!"
Rebuilding an old bike, but would toss it aside to own and restore a Beetle,
or anything of it's like from those days.
