Looks like JB has done a nice deal :)

He wasn't tipped off. He had two contracts to read and compare.

Also, nothing has been said about the merchandising deal either. Drivers
often earn significantly more from the marketing products than they do
driving.

I don't understand how that works, because you'd think they'd be too
busy promoting on behalf of the team's sponsors. I can understand how
they top up their earnings, but not how drivers at Button's or
Hamilton's end of the salary ladder can earn MORE from such deals than
they do from the teams.

Easily. As an example, Schumacher was earning triple his driver's salary
with merchandising - some 60m/year extra.

I suspect that Jenson has seen a greater potential for earning money
from the McLaren name than with Brawn/Mercedes.

Sorry, I meant tipped off that the WMSC were likely to change the
scoring system. The proposed changes would make the total number of
points available 475 rather than 190 under the present system.

Intended lightheartedly - obviously misfired :(

No idea on that, I was only pointing out the possibility.

Eddies career earnings were over $50m so not exactly peanuts, though
they do not compare with what MS earned at Ferrari, so no his earnings

property deals and multiplied his worth that way.

I think you may be comparing apples and kiwi.

No, but it was mentioned. ;)

Dunno. They did make a similar concession for Senna, and that didn't
amuse Prost.
