In the USA.
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2013/05/29/nbc-breaks-some-records/

Monaco was the most watched F1 race in the last 6 years in the USA.

But 1.5 million? Not a big chunk of the potential audience. And how
does that compare to the UK?

Hadn't looked before - Sky Sports F1, live race:

AUS 143,000
MAL 771,000
CHN 489,000
BHN 722,000
ESP 383,000

Avg. 501,000

BBC have only shown MAL & ESP live, MAL was 4.01m, not sure about ESP,
but less than 3.80m.

Data for Monaco (live on Sky, highlights on BBC) not yet online.

The 4.01m for Malaysia is a record for that event, apparently.

Didnt the BBC get 8m at one point? Or was that just at the height of
Lewis' and/or Button's title runs?

Although there are 6 Brazilian GPs in the top 10, only the last two
(2007 & 2008) were at the end of the season, the others were all round
2. Portugal 1996 was the penultimate race of Damon Hill's WDC. The final
GP (Japan) was an early morning race with fewer viewers.

GBR '92 was 'Mansell Mania'.

Canada '98 was an evening (primetime) event (as were the Brazilian GPs),
which naturally have more viewers.

Cheers for that. Explains why I had 8m in my head. Not quite as I had
imagined though.
