So, I finally decided that if I did not buy these now when
available, that I would always wished that I had
have gotten them, so I decided to go ahead and order
some of those cars I'd mentioned before.
(By the way - from 1960 through 1973 I'd totally scratch built
140 race cars in a 1/200 scale.)

The
"Six 1:200 scale, detailed miniatures of the Grand Prix winning cars
from the classic 1976 Formula One season.
McLaren M23 (James Hunt)
Ferrari 312 T2 (Niki Lauda, Clay Regazzoni)
Tyrrell P34 (Jody Scheckter)
Lotus 77 (Mario Andretti)
March 761 (Ronnie Peterson)
Penske PC4 (John Watson)
Suitable for use with the Formula D, Formula De, or Speed Circuit boardgames
or any similar 1:200 scale racing games.
Or simply as a miniature display of six exquisite racing machines."

I got in "Frosted Ultra Detail" (white). $12.49"
They are really wonderful!!! Just perfect!
Very well detailed and take paint well
(Too bad my current painting skill sucks so bad!!!)

The 8 cars from 1962 "They represent four Grand Prix winning cars
from 1962: the Lotus 25 driven by Jim Clark, the Ferrari 156 "Sharknose"
driven by Phil Hill, the Porsche 804 driven by Dan Gurney, and the
BRM P57 driven by Graham Hill."

I got the " Black Acrylic: Firm black plastic with a smooth surface and
rubbery feel. $7.94"
In my humble opinion, rough finish and like little gouges taken out.
Only saving grace, they are so small, little area to see rough/grainy
surface.
BTW, I took one of the Porsches, bulked it up in one area,
trimmed it down on others, and made it into the Lotus 18
that Moss drove for Rob Walker for 2 wins in 1960, and 2 in 1961.

And the 3 each of 4 makes from 1957 (mostly good through 1960)
"Three sets of four Grand Prix winning marques that made up the field for
the 1957 Pescara GP: the Cooper T43 driven by Jack Brabham and Roy
Salvadori, the Ferrari-Lancia 801 driven by Luigi Musso, the Maserati 250F
driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and most of the field, and the Vanwall VW57
driven by Stirling Moss, Tony Brooks and Stuart Lewis-Evans."
One DEFINITELY needs 3 of the COOPERS!
From 1958, 59 & 60, The factory Cooper of Brabham got 7 wins,
the factory Cooper of McLaren got 2 wins, the Rob Walker Cooper
got 3 wins for Moss and 1 for Trintignat.

I got the "White Strong & Flexible: White nylon plastic with a matte finish
and slight grainy feel. $7.17"
Ahhhh, real grainy. Like unpolished sandstone.
Even after 2 coats of paint the grain makes it rough.

And then the most recent ones, a generic 2009-13 set of 12
http://www.shapeways.com/product/XYYTS5GFB/f1-2009-2013-x12-sprued?optionId=43701363
White Strong & Flexible Polished: $6.19
are pretty much as expected, but not smooth polished. OK for cheap cost.

So, in conclusion, they are OK if that is of interest to you.
But, Go the upscale finishes!!!!!!!!!!

Alas, with 70-year old eyes I'm reduced to 1/4 and 1/2 scale or I might trip or sit on one. A 1/200 might get into my All-Bran.

I gott'a keep knocking on wood as I answer that
(they way things are going this year is NOT good).
But, except for the fact I've needed glasses since
I was 12, my eyes are doing ok.
Of course, for the 1/200 stuff, I remove glasses
& get close.
