... and I'm not buying.

I was on "the list" and was called last Monday.

$2500 a pop for a "permanent seat license", plus $775 a piecs for the
two race "season" tickets. That would have cost me over $1300 for the
four seats. I can't afford that much!!!! General admission, dirt and
grass only, go on sale at the end of April. Reportedly about $200 a
throw.

Of course, right now many people think the track won't be ready in
time. We've had 16 inches of rain (41 cm) in the last three months
and 3 inches this weekend. Still moving dirt and adding fill. They
haven't even cut the foundations for the permanent structures.

And Tavo is suing for $31M that he says TCOA and the organizing
committee owe him.

"The want of money is the root of all evil"

Off to rant again.

Oh, if you are coming, we have a queen bed and a queen Aerobed
available. Breakfast, a good lunch to take to the track and easy
access to the shuttle service. Prices negotiable. Crap hotels are
charging $400 a night!!!

So Kim Jung Ill shows up at the barbecue. "Wait,"
says Qadaffi, "you don't have any peircings." "If you
starve your people enough they'll be too weak to rebbel."
"You have the same number of holes in your head as when
you were born," says bin Laden. "My compound had radar
and antiacraft misslles." "Your neck," shouted Hussein,
"it's the same length." "I didn't piss on W's father."
"Then what happened?" the three asked. "Damned counterfiet
Lipitor and insulin!"

I would agree that above deal does not sound "enticing"!

Somehow, I tend to think, you will find a way to be
in the 'crowd' for the race.

Yes, still doubts.

Yes. I did know the USGP at Indy tickets were a bargain.

That idea would be very attractive,,,
But, with doubts about whole thing,,,
and other 'events' recently occuring,,,

I'm now committed to taking family ++
down to Puerto Vallarta for a combination
family vacation and youngest daughter's wedding
at that time.

Thanks for the offer, maybe another time!
(hopefully there will be another, and more!)

I'm beginning to think F1 just isn't interested in us ordinary punters
these days. I mean, they've more than doubled the price for watching the
full season on TV over here. For the first time in over 20 years, I
find I'm not counting the days till it all starts. I simply don't care
any more.

(It's this weekend, right?)

Well, that's the state you live in. Texas looks away on enforcing many
government regulations. I call Texas - China Light. Offer U.S. companies
to come to Texas and pay no taxes and operate where regulations are lightly
enforced.

I knew right from the beginning this whole track/F1 deal seemed too
rushed and funny. At first they acted like they could not move one inch
without Texas public money and sure enough it all stopped when they knew
they were not going to easily get public money. It's gone mostly down hill,
with a few up hills, from there. But I have to admit after watching
Australia qualifying, I'm glad F1 is back and I miss going to Indy for the
F1 race. I had fun. So I sort of do hope the track is constructed and F1
races in Austen just so people can pay the general admission and sit in the
grass and watch the cars race by and have fun like I used to have fun at
IMS.
