If anyone can answer this bit of trivia, you'll receive a whole lot of
good karma from me. ;)

What was the previous name of the "Surtees" corner at Brands Hatch?
It must have had a different name in the 1960's, but I've only been
able to find circuit maps that show today's corner names.

Many, many thanks in advance, and cheers,

"Stirling Moss's Book of Motor Sport" from the mid fifties has a picture
of the "indy " cirquit.

Image posted to news://alt.binaries.simulators.autos

about 200 kB, so be patient if you have a slow connection.

"Stirling Moss's Book of Motor Sport" (I have the Finnish translation!)
lists the following sections of Brands Hatch in the map:

Top Straight
Pilgrim's Rise
Druids Hill Bend
Bottom Straight
Kidney Bend
Clearways

I have no idea, if any of those was later named "Surtees Corner", though.
Or if the layout was chenged after mid-50's.

LOL. No prizes for guessing why they changed the name!

"Ok team, I'm going through the Soubh Ben.. the Sub Bend... the Sud Bonk..
.....ok, now I'm going through Druids..." <g>

Martin, what a guy! That map was *exactly* what I was looking for.
And I swear, I know I did multple web searchs that included "brands
hatch" and "1966" and "trackmap" but never caught that URL or that
site.

Thank you very much. I should have posted this question here before I
spent hours banging my head against web search engines. ;)

Much appreciation and cheers,

Dave
