I have been playing Microprose Grand Prix Manager 2 for a while now
but every time I play it eventually I get the same problem which is
really starting to annoy me.

The problem is that no matter what team I choose sometime in the first
or second season my cars develop a problem which will not let them
finish a race no matter what I do. The problem sees both cars failing
to finish a race becasue of the electrical system failing anytime from
the first 5 laps to the last 5 laps. The driver will send a message
saying "Car is handling poorly" then a lap or so later he will be out.
If I check the car telemetry when my driver sends the message the
electrical system is only around 10% worn out...?

I have tried everything to fix the problem from aquiring the best
electrical system from other teams, increasing all my chassis
internals and externals and hundreds of test laps but nothing will fix
the problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? can you fix it
or is it a bug?

Also is there a FAQ for this game?

Cheers

Well, my case is absolutely same as yours, man! I play for McLaren and
this damned electrical system iz really @#$@ed me.. I think it's a bug.

Wow! Please explain how can I use the telemetry? I can't understand
these broken lines... ;) Oh, I'm poor Russian F1 manager.

What these hundreds of test laps could do? I tried to use all the modes
but I still can't find what it gives to me?

Well, I'd like to get it as soon as possible, but there's no sign of
this game even on Microprose server. No patches, no signs - nothin!!!
I think it's very strange...

Good luck,

Yup, this is a bug in the game... the problem is that you must not
research very high Electronics level... if you don't research it,
you'll have no problem with that.

re: what all those test laps could do, I found running test laps to be one
of the most effective ways to improve your racing performance.

I never ran into the electrical system problem (though I didn't get much
beyond the middle of a season). One thing that I deduced was that the more
commands I issued to my drivers, the more likely they were to break down
one way or another. Sometimes it seemed that simply accelerating the race
to completion when I was ahead was the best way to assure I could finish
well ... just sitting and watching the race complete my cars seem to run
into trouble. Was that just me, or is this the way it is?

Hey, how the test laps can improve my racing performance?

And the Electrical Problem remains the same even when I installed the
patch from Microprose!
