My 48x Memorex badged drive (not sure who actually makes it) wouldn't
work with Sierra's ill-conceived copy protection. This drive is less
than a year old, and I'm not about to replace it with another one.
I've had ZERO problems with these drives on 2 computers and at least
70 different games.

I'm using the crack to play the game, but the fact that I have to use
a crack to play a game I paid 35 bucks for really bothers me.
Thank goodness for this newsgroup, or I probably would have been
dicking around with video drivers and stuff trying to get the game to
run. I hope this turns out to be a tech support nightmare for Sierra.

Where did you find the crack... I bought the game but hate to have to keep
the disk in to play!

Tell me about it. Hard to think of a better way to encourage people to
start visitng warez and cracks sites than this. How long did the copy
protection stay uncracked, 12 hours or so?? Talk about clueless.

Problem with the noCD patch is it doesn't work for Sierra.com online
multiplayer. :(

That is also my temporary (hopefully) solution. Better to be able to be able
to play offline than not at all. I have never used a crack, but after paying
my money, I don't think of it like piracy. Do the right thing, Sierra!

Without commenting on what's right or wrong about it, I spent $30 on a
cheapo CD-ROM so I could play on line. I've spent way more than that on
hardware upgrades to play these racing sims over the years.
