Production / Sales Statistics?

I'm doing some research on the auto industry, and am looking for a
source where I can find production and sales statistics for a variety
of auto manufacturers, by model and year. I.e. the number of Ferrari
360s manufacturered worldwide in 2000, and the number sold in the USA.
I've done some basic web searching, but since I'm looking for a large
number of manufacturers and models, google has its limitations...;)
I'm not sure if this data even exists in a centralized format, but I
can't imagine I'm the first to look for it. If anyone has a
suggestion as to where I might locate/purchase this data (going back
to at least 1996), it would be greatly appreciated.

As I recall, Automotive Industries Magazine has this, at least for
U.S. manufacture and sales. Look at their Web site; you might have to
buy a back copy of the magazine.
Automotive News is a weekly newspaper that includes weekly and
year-to-date production figures for North America.
As for U.S. registration numbers, R.L. Polk and Company collates these
(they are public information in each state), and sells various data
products.
There are usually quarterly press releases from each manufacturer,
which are online at some PR Web site. I usually run across them when
checking stock news for the manufacturer (I still own Ford stock).
