: i keep seeing the durashine tv ad. the first couple of times i was very
I was thinking the SAME exact thing! I saw SO many ads now that I think
it might actually be worth it....but would appreciate it if someone
with some experience with it might talk! :)
I bought a bottle of the stuff at G.I. Joe's ( a hardware/auto
parts/tools/camping stuff/swimming gear/ fishing equip, etc.
chain) for 5 or 6 bucks.
It definately does the sheeting action rather than the beading
thing. The car doesn't seem to be as shiny as it was with the
nu-finish I usually use, but it's a hell of a lot easier to
put on (wipe on, let dry, rinse off). It would actually take
years to tell if it really makes a difference in the finish of
the paint (I would think).
So if you're going to buy it, for gawd sakes don't pay the
info-hype price. Just shop around some local auto-type stores.

Hi there,
I never use the product but saw the ads on TV the other night. I noticed a
couple of things during infomercial,
1) During the acid test durashine was clearly in liquid form but it looked
like a paste when it was poured on top of BBQ grill.
2) Other brands were the other way around, they are all in paste form(wax)
during the acid test and flamable liquid when squeezed in an open flame.
From these two discrepancies I am really skeptical. I wonder if they replace
durashine with NaOH during the acid test?(I am not implying just wondering).
Also My professor in College told me that laser is not very destructive
unless it is polarized(sp).
But still I am interested to hear from people who tried this product.
>Another thing about that laser test is that its done on a white,as
opposed to a dark colored car. The white will reflect, as apposed to
absorb the lasers energy.Thats why that guy says the surface isnt even
warm.
