I have an '81 Scirocco that badly needs new tires. The stockers
are 175/70-13. Pretty skinny! As far as I can tell, the best tires
in this size are Yokohama AVID T4's. If I go up to 185/60-13, I
can get Yoko AVS Intermediates, which I've had before, and
like. What sizes are you knowledgeable people running? Will
185/60-13's work well?
Thanks in advance!

I tried that on my RIP '81 Scirocco S and it sucked compared to 185 60 14's...
On a 13x5" wheel, 175 70 13 is the best size, believe it or not.
I ended up having the 185 60 13's "adjusted" or pro rated to 185 60 14's, I
went with 14" wheels, and it handled much better.

Do you run 185 60 13's?
You should try 14's, you will be amazed what another inch can do. ;^)
I found that for the street, 175 70 13 handled better than 185 60 13's.
