Did they import the Golf Country into Canada. A2 AWD/4WD. If so any one
seen any for sale? How much? are they only listing them in the local
Newspapers only? I haven't seen any in the AutoTraiders etc.

Thanks for any help

Richard:

I don't think they brought any Countrys to Canada... Fairly recently I saw a
thread with some guy saying that indeed VW had brought in Countrys, and that
one was for sale in Vancouver B.C.... I think I've heard of this car before,
maybe it's one brought in privately..?

If you find any, let me know! I'm curious if any are in Canada also...

There have been a few sightings in California - in San Diego
and in the San Francisco Bay area a few years back. For all
we know it could be the same car 500 miles away from home.
If someone sees this car please take some photos of it :-)

From everything i've heard or read, they were never imported
to North America and only existed in Europe.

I have a jpeg i snagged off a webpage somewhere, it's a
green 4-door with LHD. It's like the tallest Golf ever !

Is it that picture of the LHD country coming through a bunch of mud (license
plate 962 SVW)?

If it's another picture, I'd be very greatful if you could send it to me.
Thanks. (BTW don't forget to remove that extra stuff in my e-mail... which
leaves me with nothing else but one of the most hated ISPs)

I'm really thinking about buying another Golf and turning it into a Country
look-alike like ABDs for bad weather and a little off road action. I dunno how
I'd afford it, but boy would it be great.

I saw one in person while I was in Germany and thought it was ugly. The
dealership said they were having a hard time selling it. It looked like
something a "good ol redneck" would do to a Golf.

I've lived ten years in North Dakota, so I have driven on plenty of
gravel roads. I remember you could always tell when people from
Saskatchewan came down to shop, they had running boards on their cars to
protect the sides from gravel. Maybe you should try that ;)
