I see this damn sticker on every other new VW these days
and today I saw a white Golf with a custom plate that
just said "GRÜVEN". What is this supposed to mean? Is
it some vague gen-X takeoff on the "Fahrvergnugen" phrase
or does it translate to something real?

Do you usually see a little figure sort of gettin' down, instead of the
usual little figure in a driving position? The bumpersticker usually will
say fukengruven, not blanked out as you showed. And yes, it is a play on
words off of Fahrvergnugen, the joy of driving.

I think it means Funk and Groovin.. you spelled it wrong in the subject.
it's FUNKNGRUVEN (I don't know how get the dots above the U), and yes, it's
a take off on Farhvergnugen.

No, no, no. It really stands for Fuckin' Groovin', as in Fukengruven.

Yeah, it's not factory authorized, but hey!

When my car is down, my brother in law coined the term
"Farfrumwerkin". I would've laughed, but it was"far from working" at

It's too bad that someone actually responded with an answer. I liked the "I
[spade] my dog" etc replies.

It's also too bad that the question had to be asked in the first place.

Is it that far off the level to be easily understood?
