The Chilton manual ($16) will (should) have the wiring diagrams in it.

And all that the Lorax left here in this mess
was a small pile of rocks, with the one word...
"UNLESS."

<shudder>
Chiltons are only good for use as wheel chocks.
Don't screw around, get the Bentley.

You're telling me that they can't even get the wiring diagram right?
You can usually find a Bentley manual that you can read at the
library. Most larger towns and cities have libraries that keep a copy
of the various Bentley manuals. If your local library doesn't have it,
they might be able to get it on exchange from the main branch, or they
could tell you where in your area you might find a copy for reference.
Good luck with that Jetta.

Could be. I haven't been in a Quantum but I saw a pic once of the
instrument cluster in one and it looked suspiciously identical to the ones
in early A2s.

if the old cluster had an upshift light and/or dynamic oil pressure
sensing, the alt has a terminal W and the wire to the cluster is already
there
