ummmmmm....I looked that one up in my heaad from when I first got my car
when I was 16... I'll have to go check a book to give a reference... which
do you prefer? I know it's right... cause I use it to calculate how much gas
I use and stuff.... I actually fit a little more than 10.6 though cause one
side of my car sits higher than the other... actually that's in my super...
did I get them confused? guess I gotta go reference it now....

Quoting from the owner's manual for my 1972 Super Beetle:

"The fuel tank has a capacity of 11.1 US gallons (42 liters or 9.2
Imp. gal.). The VW 111 has a tank capacity of 10.6 US gallons (40
liters or 8.8 Imp. gal.)."

I wish I had the figures for my old 75 FI Super, but I'm sure it
was larger than 42 litres. My fill-ups were always 38-42 litres
and it wasn't close to empty.

Oh crud! Sorry to hear about the crash. That is news, isn't it? I don't
recall your mentioning it being in an undrivable condition, but then, we
were focusing on the condition of the blue one...

No, it isn't news, that happened way back last summer when the kid
went off on a lark for a couple of months. Don't get Scott started on
that rant!:~)
