I'd say the most popular is red, some form of yellow, or a light shade of
blue.....

My favorite ? Java Green or Gulf Blue....

Don't know what year or color it was though.

Was there a color called Sea Foam Green?? Early 60's green I think. Kind of
a light green. Maybe the Sea Foam Green was on the 55 - 57 Chevys I get them
mixed up (my other car love year ago), VW had a simillar color....

Around 10 or so years ago, I remember seeing a picture of Ted Bundys 68 Beetle
as it was for sale for $25000.I think the guy selling it paid a couple of
hundred dollars for it some years earlier. It was a B/W photo but the car
appeared to be tan or white. Article said that the inside of the car was
totally ripped up, as law enforcement tore it up looking for clues and
information. I never did hear what happened to the car after that.

Hello People,
Anything Green. I know VW used several different shades,
although I do not know the real name of the color, my favorite
was the "M&M Green" they used - for what I think was a short
time. Don't see many of them anymore.

Good Day to All.

I think your right about Sea Foam Green. That is my '63s original colour,
or maybe the name is a lil bit off. I'd have to look it up to be sure but
that sounds right.

"I'm *not* a baby, I'm a big girl!" (while standing on tip-toes).

Good helper in the garage, though. She's helping me on my current resto
project (we're almost down to the shell), and she takes the parts as I
get them off the car, and puts them into the right box almost always,
and is very good at giving me the right tool when I ask for it (for
those which she can lift).

Great quality time - we both enjoy it a lot. And, by the time the
car is done, she may very well be old enough to drive it ;)

When I first saw my '56 Coral Red Beetle -- it really struck me funny, it seemed
a bit strange, like it didn't belong, you know like something from the Atomic Age.
Oh yeah, that's right, it "is" from the Atomic Age. The de-saturated red (pastel)
is so different it's stunning under the certain light conditions. It has a tendency
to mingle with light illuminating it. In the warm light of a sunset it has an orange-ish
glow about it. In bright sunlight it looks light a well made "cream of tomato soup"
In dim light it looks almost brown. This bug certainly stands out against all other cars
on the road today, but then again any Oval, even one in primer gray stands out.
I withheld judgment at first; but I now love Coral Red; You really don't see a lot
Beetles of this color -- I believe, 1956-1958 were the only years of production.

My least favorite color is Red, and that's what my '72 is. I'd paint
it over, but the PO had such a good job done, I'll save the cash for
the next one. It's not a stock VW red, but something like Ford Victory
red. Or as my friend the truck dealer says, "Retail Red." He also
calls it Toy or Midlife Crisis Red. I hate it.

I like the anthracite color Mr. Rose showed. And the old darker
greens.
