where to find chassis#?

Well-
it seems that my chassis num. is missing. I've looked in the engine area
and see nothing. Is it supposed to be on a plaque (that might have been
removed?) or is it stamped into the chassis itself (in which case it
might be covered up w/ the black paint that was applied at some point).
In either case, I am at a loss as to where EXACTLY it may be since all
books I've read refer to it as 'in the engine compartment' (or something
as nebulous as that) Oh yeah, the bus I have is a '67 Deluxe. I do have
the VIN# on a plate riveted into the fresh air dam up above the
passenger seat. But, I don't think the VIN & chassis# are one & the
same, correct? - Melissa

That's your chassis' #. It's the engine # and VIN (chassis' #) that are
different. But if you really want to make sure, there is a plate behind your
spare tire. You could also look under the back seat right infront of the
shift coupling.
