I just bought a very nice hardly used Eberspacher BN2 gas heater for my
Ghia, yet I have no idea what each thing is, does, or how to install it. I
found the entire manual for the BN4 on the web, and wondered what the
similarities are, if any. Also, would anyone know where I could get an
owner's manual for a BN2? Maybe some installation/tuning instructions?
Thanks

The BN2 is a smaller version of the BN4.
The BN2 is *plenty* big enuf for your Ghia.

The major difference is that the BN2 uses only a
glow plug for ignition while the BN4 has both a glow and a spark plug.
There is electrical info on my web site for both heaters but
bo installation instructions.

Thanks Jim...I did just find a manual request from Espar.com that I asked
for. Their website says that they'll photocopy manuals for the BN2 and the
BN4 and send them to you if you provide your address. They mention 2 guys
that service these heaters in North America, one in Toronto and the other in
N.J.. The one in NJ I've heard of on here and at other posting sites. Go
to www.espar.com and look around to find the info about the manuals. Thanks
again

Mr. Dude,

The BN2 was the earlier heater supseded by the BN4. The BN2 had a different
fuel regulator and pump setup and glow plug as well as spark plug in the
combustion chamber. The BN4 has the combo glow/spark plug unit and uses a
pulse type fuel pump run off of a set of points actuated by the fan motor.
If you didn't get the fuel pump with the unit be advised you cannot use any
old pump because it's a metered unit and pumps only a very small amount of
fuel on each pulse.

Try the eberspacher web site as I believe they've posted a manual up there
for the BN4.

Regards,
BG

If you want to have a look at a cut-away drawing
and circuit diagram, check out my webpage at:
