Ok, I am a UK resident, currently building a 1600 TP for my 1200 1973 VW
beetle.

I am definatly going with the dual/twin carb setup, but I am unsure of which
carbs will suit my engine the best

At present the engine has Petronix electronic ignition with a 009 bosch
dissy, the planned exaust is either a single quiet pack or Hideout/Turbo
Trip style muffler.

I already have the manifolds and linkage/filters (all CB performance items)
for Dellorto/Webber carbs from 36-45mm, but I have also been told that a
pair of Kadron 40mm carbs would suit my engine more than the Dellorto 36mm
items I have planned.

As I said before, the engine is pretty much standard, although I may plan a
1641cc set of barrels and pistons if funds permit.

What do you lot think?, Kadrons or Webber/Dellorto?

weber ict 34 ,, kadrons ... either will work fine for a 1600. they are both
single barrel carbs... the big boys (dual barrel) 40 IDF weber , or DRLA
dellordos , could also be tuned (jetted) for your engine. go with what your
budget permits... but note, dells are no longer made...

Thanks for that, I am looking at a pair of Dellorto 32/36 dual barrels from
an early Alpha Romeo 33 1500, I am told these should be fine for a 1600 to a
mild 1776.

The Dellorto 36's are by far the superior carb's, if you can afford them, go
for it.
