I hit a construction barrel, break off my passenger sideview mirror. I
Email Joe at 6th planet about a replacement mirror...he says he has
one. Next day, he emails me back saying oops he doesnt have one. Two
days later, he emails me saying he has one. I go to paypal and send
them the $80.50 for the mirror. The next day, i get an email saying
oops, he doesnt have the mirror, he'll send me a refund via a check in
the mail. I get the check, and the same day i get yet another email
saying he found a mirror. I say i still have the check, but haven't
cashed it, do you want me to send you a picture of the check all
ripped up? he says no i'll take your word for it that you wont cash
it. I recieve the mirror Tuesday, open the box and it is screwed up:
the outside of the mirror was scratched all to hell. It looks like
someone hit it with a hammer then rubbed it with steel wool. There is
one of the three studs missing where the mirror attaches to the door.
Inside, where the glass attaches to the motor, is broken. These issues
make the mirror worthless to me. This is where it gets ugly...what
follows are our emails back and forth...

Let me just say i am HIGHLY dissapointed in the condtion of the mirror
you sent me...here's whats wrong with it:
1. You never mentioned once that the outside of the mirror was
scratched all to hell. It looks like someone hit it with a hammer then

Needless to say, i'm gonna need a refund, including return shipping to
Fla. I hope you dont treat all your customers like this, or your
business venture will be short lived.

all it takes is one bolt to hold those in if necessary, two is more
than sufficient and would have held it fine. paint we are not even
responsable for, a can of spray paint would rectify that. the mirror
was not broken other than one bolt when it left and I certainly don't
appreciate the lines about the 3 stooges etc. you can keep the mirror,
its yours , its usable and I don't fell the need to help anyone that
talks to me like that nor am I required to. the mirror worked fine for
me when I tested it, I used the remote control.

i never said the check was destroyed...you assumed that i had, but i
was keeping it just in case something like this happened. Im sure
Florida has similar laws against selling knowingly defective parts
over state lines, too....
Listen, let's make this as painless as possible. I just got back from
the bank cashing your check. I have NO intention of keeping your
crappy mirror too. I will send it back today on my way to work. I
don't even care about the money for shipping. If you feel the need to
pursue this legally, don't. I don't think this piddly nonsense is
worth wasting any more time over. The only person getting screwed
here is me, out of the return s/h. That should make you more than

now and reported stolen, go cash it so you can be arrested in your own
bank! there is nothing wrong with the part and you trying to mislead

call to my bank and it was taken care of and reported stolen, even if

If this is a serious question, then my 2-cent opinion/answer is that there
was simply too much talk about a mirror. The talk spiraled into a pissing
contest, and at that point you both lost. Anger makes us all a little
crazy.
In hindsight, I would have inquired, if I liked what I heard I would have
ordered (I use Paypal too, no probs so far), if I didn't like what I heard I
would have just passed up the offer.
If I ordered the mirror, and when it arrived I it wasn't what I wanted, I
would have returned it simply saying it wasn't what I wanted. And I would
have probably waited a couple of weeks for the refund before contacting the
place you bought from.
Take what I say with a grain of salt, it's only an opinion.

issue, if he really got the runaround like he said in the first email,
why didn't he take his business elsewhere? You can find perfect
condition mirrors (w/pics) on ebay for far less than $80, or you could
get off your ass and go to your local junkyard and only pay $50 and
get to see what you are getting. Big mistakes by both, hope they
learned something.
Oh yeah, as far as grammar and spelling go, they both need to go back
to school.

As someone who used to work in retail I understand the trite myth, "The
customer is always right." The customer is NOT always right, but he IS
always the customer. Sometimes, it is just too expensive to have him as
YOUR customer.
Two facts stick out to me also:
1. Dish out crap to Joe and Joe will dish it back.
2. I bought a radio from Joe about 18 months ago and I'm a satisfied
customer.
I don't know Dennis and based on his e-mails, I don't care to. However, I
have dealt with Joe and was satisfied. He even diagnosed a problem that I
had, just from e-mails exchanged. Just my personal experience and
observations.
