As I had written in my previous post Re: Seats... I am plagued by my
seatbelt riding up on my neck until it is strangling me.

I am 5 ft 1 in tall and I ride with the seat on the third notch back and
the seat back upright. Unfortunately in the '93 there is nothing to stop
the shoulder strap from riding up around my ears. When I am comuting on
busy highways at fast speeds in heavy truck traffic on the Cross Bronx
Expressway ot the Long Island Hyws. it can be very distracting and
dangerous.

Is there anything someone can come up with that may help this situation?

Thank you in advance.

I was in an accident with a City Bus, a drunk driver cut him off on a
highway an we caught the back corner while accelerating. The seat belt was
across my neck, I have a small scar but for weeks I a massive bruise and a
nylon burn, it smarted more than a little. FYI- did you know that a seat
belt don't restrain you until it hits the rib cage, very painful on large
chested female, that was an embarrasing bruise to show people, it went
from my neck, across my chest down to my side and it was ugly. I would
have gone through the windshield (maybe the bruise wasn't so bad) without
the seat belt so i'm happy i was wearing it but I could have saved my self
a lot of pain in the neck and maybe a more serious injury if I had been
wearing my selt belt correctly.

I'm five two and not shy about adjusting my seat in peoples cars any
longer.

Just a little info, I won't ride in, buy, or drive a car that I don't feel
comfortable in seatbelt wise, it may sound inconvienent but if your dead
what's the point. The same goes for people who won't wear there seatbelt
in my car, get there some other way. Its not worth the pain.....

Hi sandra: Similr thing happens to me in my '93 SW2 wagon. I'm also
short--5-3. I find that sitting on a pillow helps with the height, and
also making sure that the seat hight is all the way up. Do you have the
hight adjustment option?

I'm forever pulling the seatbelt down, too. Keep in mind that most cars
are designed for 5-10" males, not small women.

That's funny, I just started driving a '94 SW1 company car and it
seems designed for petite women, not for my 6'2" 190 lb frame. With
the seat all the way back, I have to squeeze my hand between the seat
& door pillar to fish out the lap belt, sometimes scratching my hand
in the process. The front door is too small for easy entry & exit, and
if I reach inside the car from the outside, the sharp plastic molding
along the top of the inside door frame scrapes my leather jacket. The
shoulder belt snags on pens in my shirt pocket.

Go to your local discount chain, Wal-mart, Meijer, Kmart, what have
you, and look in the auto sections for something along the lines of
Safe-T-Belt, or similar products. They are typically a "velcro pouch"
that you slide over the seatbelt, that repositions the belt, along
your torso. It is designed for children, but I imagine it would work
in this case. We started using it with our 5 year old as he outgrew
booster and conventional child seats. You can slide it along the lap
portion, so that it "falls" in a variety of positions across your
shoulder.
Hard to explain, here is a very ROUGH ascii drawing of the device,
denoted by XX. Sorry for the crudeness.

We bought ours for 7.95US I think... and they range from 5 to 10.
