Trouble is I simply cannot find it.
On www.meguiars.com or on www.meguiars.com.au (as I am in Australia) it is
simply not listed.
The first problem is that they do not have a simple list of products on
their pages.
You have to select categories and sub menus etc and I may simply not be
looking in the right place.
Under [CONSUMER] you only have the choice of:
Interior Care
Wheel and Tyre Care
Paint Care
Tools and Accessories
and the product fits none of these categories..
But I have checked all of the categories - and cannot find it.
I cannot "Order a Catalogue" as I am not in the USA or Canada.
The second issue is that the product number does not even appear to be
'valid'.
i.e. #40 does not appear to be a valid reference.
All part numbers are in the following format:
G-7101
G-1832
G-4116
Does this product even exist anymore?
I also keep seeing references to other products with similar numbers like:
Meguiars #26 - Liquid Wax etc.
No mention of any such product on their web sites either.
Yours in confusion.....
Could it be... "M-4016 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner"? It looks like it
has the number 40 on the bottle. Found it under Professional Interior. It
looks like the product number is the first two digits and the second two
digits is the size of the container in ounces. (e.g. the two-step vinyl
window products are #17 -- M-1708 and #10 -- M-1008).

Please remove the under_scores if sending me mail.
Silly me thinking it would be:
A) Under 'consumer products'
(did not look under 'professional products' in the USA site)
B) On the Australian site at all.
(I checked every product in every range on the .au site)
Looks as though I cannot get it in Australia anyway.
This is typical - I hate my life :-(
But I love my car :-)
Thanks again.

What's the deal? Every time I look around, someone's telling me to never use
anything other than water to clean my soft top. I've never put anything on
it at all--then I find out Meguiar's has a product specifically for this.
What gives?

I've also heard rants and raves (good ones) about the effectiveness of
"Simple Green" on almost any automotive clean up job, but specifically on
the vinyl top with excellent results. Hey, this might be the answer for the
guy from Australia!
Also, I always make sure that the cars paint is good and wet when I'm using
anything around it, in case some sprays over on it. And keep rinsing the
paint periodically, just in case while you're scrubbing the top.

When I called Meguiar's with the same question, I was told they were
superseding both #40 and #41 with the newer Endurance (no #) formula.

You haven't looked carefully. Meguiars #40 has been widely recommended for the
vinyl top and rubber surfaces in this newsgroup for years. Armor-All has been
castigated for containing a sealant (bad) and no UV protection.
Dear Kevin
Unfortunately M4016 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner is no longer
available in Australia, however we recommend the use of Natural Shine
Protectant (G4110 or G4116) for cleaning & maintaining vinyl soft tops.
M1708 & M1008 are both available in Australia & are ideal for perspex
rear windows in soft tops.
Hope this helps you.

Does anyone have any odea how the #41 product stacks up against #40?

If it does not compare - I may have to look for another brand.
