Has anyone ever dented their trunk by sitting on it? If so, how much do
you weigh? I weigh 175 lbs and I always get the urge to sit on my trunk
and I'm wondering if it will hold up. What if myself and my date both
sit on the trunk? Will it dent? It's just a convenient height and
all..

I sit on mine sometimes. Just make sure you don't have those little
metal rivets on the back of your jeans. They could put some nasty
scratches on your baby. I speak from experience. (Scratched my first
car's roof this way... dont ask. : ) )

It'll dent. A little test pressure with your hand will reveal that.
And if you're wearing jeans, don't forget your back pockets have
rivets on them.

Yes, you will dent it. Sheet metal on cars these days is about the same
thickness as a dime...if not less... and a lot softer. Heck you can put
a depression dent on it with the palm of your hand.

Hmm... all you guys say that he will dent it. I've sat on mine many
times... no dents. No deviation from the norm whatsoever for that
matter. Maybe because I weigh 157lbs (hey, I'm 5' 8"). Nahhh, my car is
just better than yours. : )

Say, this wouldn't have anything to do with the recent thread on sex and
the Miata, would it?

Jason, What are you trying to do to James? The Spec's say,"22 lbs. Max."
on that trunk lid! I don't think he fits under that weight and I'm sure
haven't tried it. I bent mine with the spare tire! It weights 23 lbs.
and I had it padded well.
