Looking for advice

Okay, I recently moved to California, summer is coming...I NEED A MIATA!!
Can someone point me to a FAQ or a paper book on buying used Miatas,
probably of '91-'93 vintage? Common problems, what to look out for, etc.
I'm not terribly mechanically inclined, but I'm not an idiot either...e.g. I
know what the timing belt does, but would have no idea how to replace one,
how long it should last, or what a reputable mechanic would charge to
replace it.
Along the same lines, is there a website or FAQ or something listing
mechanics and dealers in the Los Angeles area that Miata owners have had
good luck with?

I'm sure there is one in the bay area. The members will be
the most knowledgable people to talk with. I'm sure that if
you went to one of their meeting, you can get all of your
questions answered. You might even want to join. The San
Diego club has frequent fun runs and autocross events and
members get discounts on parts and service from a number of
providers.

If you don't mind used/salvaged Miatas (I do) there is a fellow named George
in North Hollywood that always has what seems like the entire fleet of used
Miata in his yard.
Email if you need his address/phone .
PCH is good but you have got to try Angeles Crest once you have mastered
your Miata driving.

The Angeles Crest Highway is the LA equivelent of Deals Gap in the east, a
two-lane road that twists and turns it's way through the San Gabriel
mountains to the north and east of the city. Take exit 2 off the I-210 in La
Canada/Flintridge - Ca. Rt 2 North into the San Gabriels. Take the road up
to Mt. Wilson - the view from the road is incredible (stop at a pull-off -
don't try to look while driving or you may find yourself airborne). If time
permits, take the tour of the observatory - it's well worth it).
My yearning for a Miata began when I rented a '97 while in the LA area on
business about two years ago. I had a weekend to kill, so I spent all day
Saturday driving the PCH and taking in the sights (mountains, beaches,
babes, etc), and all day Sunday screaming up and down the Angeles Crest
Highway.
Go up to Mt. Wilson on a morning when the basin is fogged in - it's like
standing on top of a cloud!

I found it, thanks. Too bad I did not take it in the last time Bozo and
I drove through LA. :( But I will have a look at it next time. :)
