I have the same car as you and changed my belt last fall at 101K miles.
The belt didn't look too bad, but you could see some checking. I think
when they start to go, the go fast.
You haven't damaged your engine YET!
You will probably want to change your other belts at the same time,
because they have to be removed anyway, and are a pain in the butt. In
my case, the alternator belt was almost toast. The other belts weren't
too bad, but since my friend was doing 95% of the work, I didn't want to
be a cheap skate.
Total cost of ALL 4 belts was about $65 as I recall. Use genuine Honda
belts. They obviously are good.

Nope. It's external, so I took the gamble.

You may call it external or not, but the point is that you can replace it
without removing the lower timing belt cover. You can get all screws out and
you just have to bend a bit the lower cover to get old pump out and to fit a
new one in. I did it on my 86 LX and according to the manual 87 LXi is not
different.

Maybe the LX is different from the carbureted DX? I tried bending
the cover but it still would not come out, and the salvage yard
agrees. Guess you were very lucky.

DX is the same. Just make sure you remove all screws of the lower TB cover.
