I have a 91 Honda Civic. For years the trunk leaked and I got rain
water in the back tail lights. I finally drilled holes so the water
would drain, this was about 2 years ago.

Last week I noticed the right directional on the dashboard blinking
twice as fast as normal. The left directional worked normally. I
noticed none of my right tail lights worked. I put the left tail light
bulbs into the right tail lights and they did not work. I put the right
tail light bulbs into the left tail lights and they worked.

I looked in the owners manual and saw there is only one fuse for all
tail lights.

Where do I look next for the problem? Thanks Steve

This seems to be a common problem with the older Civics. I had a '90 Civic
and I constantly had water in me tail lights. I would have to frequently
change the bulbs, because the water would cause them to stop working. I
finally drilled holes so that the water would drain. If your turning signal
is going faster than usual, it's probably because a turning signal bulb
somewhere on your car (front or back) is broken. I had this exact problem
after my car was in an accident and after replacing all the bulbs, it
starting working normal again.

The fast blinking turn signal has nothing in common with the taillights not
working except they probably share a common ground wire, which is the black
wire at the taillight. Probably corroded connector.
