Is anyone negotiating a CRV for below sticker price? Dealerships in my
area aren't budging. Any info would be appreciated.

i have at 3% over invoice for a 1998 CRV EX auto. it had a
roof rack, so total price was like $20,300. it also had wheel
locks which they forgot to charge me (hehe). the dealership
is Jim Miles in Jackson, TN. you can reach them at 1 800
273 0856 and then ask for Frank Gerard. he's real cool
and he may be able to get you the same deal. just tell him
Dom Vitualla sent you :)

I bought my 97 below sticker before the 98's were available.

Work with a salesman at a sizeable, high-volume dealership. Have him let
you know when they get 5 or more in. They'll expect them to all sell within
a few days. If they don't, you can swoop in and dicker a bit - but not
much.

Mine's 6 weeks/6K miles old; I absolutely love it. While I agree that the
power band is a bit "peaky", I'm still pleased with the overall performance
and 23-28 mpg (solid 24.7). The ride quality and handling, on top of
remarkable NVH characteristics, make this one of the nicest vehicles I've
ever owned. And, I've owned plenty.

If you're going to drive it for a few years, at least, a couple hundred
bucks on the purchase price doesn't make much difference.
