Before you all agree with me that I am an idiot, let me tell you, I know
that I am a stubborn idiot.

Damn!!! I wasted my f----ing $20 on that goddamn Fast & Furious DVD!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I should have listened to all the post here about the movie!!!

No plot, no good ending, engines that make no f---ing sense, race scenes
that make no sense, sex scenes that make no sense, accident scenes that make
no sense.

Not funny, not entertaining, nothing!!!

Damn!!! I am an idiot!!!

Just different tastes, for a different subculture. I kind of liked it
myself. The movie producers had it down pat. Know your target audience,
make a film geared towards that audience, make lots of money in the
process. Only 1 out of every 1,000 potential films ever makes it past
the script stage................Got to give them credit for actiually
getting it shot..........Even the cheesy/fake shots.........

Just my two cents worth.

Bill S.

PS: You want a real movie, with real cars, stunts, and real life speeds
(no sped up film shots), go find your self a copy of "The Gumball
Rally".....A film way ahead of it's time..................Shot on
location (85% of it), with no computer generated effects (hey, it was
1975 you know)...........

Actually I quite liked it. Then again I didn't buy it, my 13 year old son
used his Christmas money for it.

Well, all in all, I thought it was pretty good... I can't stand ricers and
they had the "Ricer Freak" characters made out perfectly. A bunch of snotty
thug assholes. Heh heh I thought the plot was pretty good, but they could
have done far better if they'd taken a little deeper. For those if you who
haven't seen the movie, I won't say anything, but I think more of the
"substance of why" could have really been dragged out on BOTH themes (ricer
racing and the other part.)

What I really liked was the "through the engine" grpahics like when he
revved and hauled ass. I just like how it made a shot through the engine
and out the tail pipe. However, that was the cleanest freakin' engine I've
ever seen on a car! But I guess carbon and grease and snot wouldn't make it
as cool of a scene.

I think it could have had a HELL of a better ending too... It was cool as
it was, but even then, they could have taken it a few steps further to let
us know what happens to everyone... You know, stuff like "does the guy get
the girl," and "what becomes of who?" Not bad, but the ending leaves a lot
of questions about what happens to everyone...

I bought it too. I watched it tonight again. I actually like it. Watch it
for entertainment value and its a good movie. If you want realism and
automotive fact then yes, its a hacker.

If you want correctness and automobile racing to the nth degree get Grand Prix
with James Garner and Le Mans with Steve McQueen.

I have that one as well, and the Cannonball run which just came out on DVD.
Cannonball is pure entertainment too. It like FnF was never intended to be
dead serious. You gets lots of cool coupons with the FnF DVD though ;-).

Nah, you should have downloaded it off Morpheus first and THEN decided

if you wanted to buy the DVD.

I completely agree!!! One of the Encore or Cinemax movie channels had
this on just the other day. I had forgotten how cool the cars were in
that flick! If you haven't seen it or it's been a long time since you
have seen it... go get it!

For that part where the view went to the engine then to the transmission and
out the tailpipe, did I see pistons whiz by instead of a rotor which should
have been under the hood of that car?

Hmm...so much for that part of realism but the movie was really
entertaining.

Whadya expect Oscar calibre performances!?

Just check your mind at the door. If you want a mindless timewaster
then renting would have been a better idea. I can however recommend
much better time wasters than that!( automotive and otherwise) StuK

Hey! The Cannonball Run was VERY true-to-life!! Didn't you see those Japs
going 400 miles an hour?! Heh heh

OK... Back to The Fast And The Furious... I have one question... They
were in Sunny California I think... It gets pretty damn hot out there...
What did Dominic do for air conditioning? He pushed the A/C button and the
Hazard Light button slid out in a James-Bond-ish kind of way... Then he hit
the little button and fired the Nitrous... I mean, he's not racing all the
time... Then again, I guess "cool guys" don't need A/C because they cruise
with the windows down share their shitty music with the world...

Here's another stupid observation (OF MANY)... Why the hell would he want
to hide the Nitrous button? For God's sake, he had digital readouts, pimp
daddy graphics and everything... It's not like he was driving around in a
"sleeper." Then again, those ricers do some dumb ass shit...

So, yes, from an entertainment point of view, it was great...

the part where Paul walker is standing in front of the drive way of Vin
