1. What's the weight added on in going from a 302 to a 351? How bout a 302 to
a 460? (using the 4 bolt svo blocks)
2. I think a C4 weighs about 75lbs. What's the weight of a C6? How much
power does it use up vs. a C4?
Anyone think the cube advantage is worth the weight disadvantage is going with
a 460 instead of a 351?

460 will give more horse power but will force you to do extensive suspension
upgrades, will only moderate improvements in handling.
351W is the best all around street engine. Performs well on the strip if
properly built, and using the proper transmision and rear end ratio. 289/302
cams can be used in a 351W using the 289/302 firing order.
351C is for the high rpm strip/racing use. Not recommend if you want
longevity in an engine.
C4 is a light duty transmission. Seperate transmission cooler, and a shift kit
required for use with high HP engines.
Weight: Light, case is cast aluminum
C6 is a medium duty transmision. Cooler and shift kit is recommended.
Weight: moderate, Case is cast aluminum
FMX is a heavy duty transmission with front and rear pump. Cooler is
recommended depending or HP of motor and weight of vehicle. Shift kit required
due to design of the 2nd gear band. It will slip when placed behind a high
power motor.
Weight: heavy, case is cast iron.
Automatics average about 2:1 torque multiplication, and average 5 to 10% loss
in HP. The differences between these transmission is mainly durability,
weight, gear ratios.
