A couple years back I saw a Maverick at a car show that had Hurst Lightning rod
shifters installed. The car was closed up so I couldn't see what kind of
drivetrain it had in it. (lightning rods are only made for the GM apps). The
owner was no where to be found and I couldn't wait around because I had my
father with me. Anyone know what it would take to adapt one of these
to.....say.....a C-6? thanks,paul.

I'm pretty sure that when they first came out that the Hurst Lighting
Rods were available for several applications. They were installed in
some Hurst/Olds cars in the 80's but I'm pretty sure you could get
generic ones for the rest of us non-GM folks.

Look around, you might find a set. Have you tried contacting Hurst?

If worst came to worst you could adapt a GM set up to a C6. It can't be
that hard to do if you have the time to mess with it.

Yes, I did contact Hurst. They're discontinued for Fords. Talked to a guy on
aol awhile back who owns a transmission shop and he gave me some ideas. Thanks
for the reply.
