Yes, Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS) makes an emmissions legal 150 hp kit for DOHC
Cobra's. Cars with it can run 11s in the 1/4 without a hitch. Contact them at
their website. I think its about $750 for everything.

Be sure that you get a DRY nitrous system. A WET system will screw up the
intake and exhaust sensors on the 4.6 engines.

Wouldn't that be distructive? As I understand the 4.6 does not have forged
pistons.

After I figured out the difference between the 2, I was shocked to findout some
guys were shooting Nos and gas mix through the upper intakes where there is only
supposed to be air...
So don't run lean, and the pistons won't burn.
just make sure to get a bottle heater and you're set!

As I understand nitrous is not compatable with other than forged pistons, lean
or not.

Yes, I called someone I know who works at a local Ford dealer and someone at a
local Honda/Acura dealer, they both report a recent influx of nitrous damaged
cars.
You really should go and see one of those nitrous damaged engines when it's
torn down. It's sorta like looking inside the lungs of a person who has
been smoking all their life. Once you've seen it and the damage it does,
you'll change your mind.

Plus $30 - $90 per week for bottle refills. Assuming you pay $3/lb of N20
which is not an unheard of price.
Once you start spraying, you will easily go through a bottle a week at the
70 hp level. Easily two bottles a week at the 150 hp level. Once you start
spraying, you won't stop. It's as addictive as drag racing.
If you are going to street race during the week, you will easily run through
one bottle per week. Probably two per week. If you plan on drag racing the
car, plan on going through one or two bottles per night. That doesn't
include the bottle you buy to run on the street for the rest of the week.
Assuming you buy two bottle fills per week (about $60) and pay $750 for the
kit, after one year you have spent enough money to buy a blower. Save for a
few months and get a Vortec. You will always have 400 RWHP on tap with a
custom chip.
Unless you already ordreed the kit, then don't worry about it. Have fun.
